Academia Cotapaxi and Colegio Menor students translate for CAMTA

Once again (for the third year) students from these two top academic private schools in Quito have volunteered during the CAMTA mission. The students explain and interpret for patients and their families, and also help get the patients up and moving after surgery. Many of these students have had little or no contact with people who live in poverty prior to volunteering with us and are surprised and moved by the stories that they hear. Seeing our team in action also gives the students exposure to a variety of health care professions, and perhaps something to consider when they are thinking about their future careers.

Many thanks to Miluska Sanchez for her all her work organizing her team of students, and also for her many personal hours of interpretation.
