It's a short blog tonight. I need sleep as do many in the group. There's a bug running around and at least five are a little under the weather now. But the bug is mild and short lived thank goodness.
Here's a picture of little Brandon. He's a 7 month old and here he is with his cast on at the end of surgery yesterday. His parent's are a caring couple in very trying circumstance and you heard about that yesterday. In fact I received an email from Colombia confirming that we were best not to place photos of the parents on the blog due to the risk.
Now Brandon is in recovery room. He's a little out of sorts so Bev Runka RN, is comforting him.
This shot is on the ward this morning. Everybody loved to hold Brandon! Here Jaskaran Singh has fun with little Brandon whilst Fern Cannon and Eileen Guilfoyle look on.
Here's Matthew Moreau with Brandon's older brother. When the parents came to take Brandon home today they brought along the 2 year old and the three year old. Fortunately the older one doesn't have rickets! The parents were concerned about bowlegs but he doesn't have them. Before they left we gave the parents five Ikea blankets in colors that were good for 3 boys and 2 girls plus a plush toy each. There were tears in the eyes of both parents. I wish we could show you the parents!
Thanks all and now it's off to bed. I'll post by 10 Eastern with any luck tomorrow. It'll be a story about an adult and her experience receiving a new hip.
John
