Kevin, a one year old boy, and his mother Evely, 17 years old, came to the clinic because he needed a clubfoot release. Evely is a single parent and she and Kevin live with Evely’s parents and two sisters in Latacunga. Evely stays at home to take care of Kevin and her younger sister, who is 12. They found out about CAMTA through Kevin’s dad’s aunt. She mentioned it to Evely, in hope of giving Kevin a better life so when he’s older he’ll be able to run around with his friends. Without CAMTA, Evely’s parents would try to help, but there is a lot of tension between them due to her being pregnant at such a young age. Evely tries to maintain some of her teenage spirit by meeting up with her friends, but her biggest priority is Kevin, and being a good mother to him.
