On Thursday morning the CAMTA bus from hotel to hospital buzzed with conversation. There was definitely a positive energy in the bus. Read on to find out why!
On Wednesday evening after visiting the Tierra Nueva and meeting our patients firsthand, Ambassador Andrew Shisko and his wife Margaret Shisko hosted the members of CAMTA and their friends and colleagues of the Tierra Nueva plus significant supporters of CAMTA at a reception held in the home of the ambassador in Quito.

From his heart, the Ambassador expressed his sincere approbation for the work of CAMTA at the Tierra Nueva. He recognized Ms. Fern Cannon for her 10 years of work as the lead translator and the cultural connection of CAMTA to Ecuadorean society. He recognized the inestimable support of the Tierra Nueva as a partner in enabling the work of CAMTA. He reflected on the essential participation of young Canadians in the work of CAMTA which gives them a great understanding of the developing world but at the same time provides energy and the opportunity for succession within the organization.

Maria Clara has provide the local arrangements of hotels and bussing for CAMTA each year. Dr. Gonzalo Vorbeck's firm, Life Pharma has provided medications and intravenous fluids for CAMTA for at least seven years. Thank you from every member of CAMTA!
