Clinic Day, Week Two!

Sundays are Clinic Days in Quito, and they are always busy days for CAMTA. That’s the day the all prospective patients come into the hospital hoping to be selected for surgery. As well, CAMTA sees patients that were treated in in previous years who come back to the clinic for follow-up. The waiting room is full of prospective and previous patients.

Pediatric Orthopedic surgeons Tim Carey and Marc Moreau take a look at 14-year old Jefferson Paredes’s x-rays to determine if he’s a good candidate for surgery.

On Clinic day, when space is at a premium, pediatric anesthetists Drs. Natalie Buu (seated) and Dave Cubitt (right) commandeer stairwell to discuss pre- and post-operative care with the mother of four year old Sheila Ortega. Tuesday morning, Sheila will be operated on to shorten her right femur.
